Another Five x5
| Since my wonderful, brilliant and beautiful new friend Susan put me on the hook for this…I will so oblige: 5 things I want my kids to know
1. I LOVED you before I felt you growing inside me. 2. When I say there is nothing you could do to make me not love you, I mean it. 3. If I seem really hard on you it is because life is harder than I could ever be and I want you to learn from someone who loves you, not from a hard life. 4. Life is not fair. Accept it and learn how to live with it. 5. I’m a big girl and have been taking care of myself for a long time. You don’t have to worry about me. Well, not yet anyway. 5 things you want to tell your child when she is grown up 1. Don’t rely on your looks. Looks will fade. 2. Be respectful. Respect yourself, your family and your superiors and you will be respected in return. 3. Making a mistake is human. What you do to correct the mistake is what truly defines you. 4. Be careful who you marry. Be careful who you have children with because you are connected to them for the rest of your life, not just until your kids turn eighteen. Be careful of the people you trust because they will hurt you the most. 5. Have a great time in your youth. You can’t get it back. 5 things you want to tell your child before you die 1. Where I’ve stored my Will, Living Will and Power of Attorney. (I guess that should wait until you grow up.) 2. Don’t you dare put me in a casket! Burn me , smoke me, I don’t care! Just don’t put me in a box in the ground! 3. I gave you everything I thought you would need in life. 4. Know that doing your best will have to be good enough for you, me and everyone else. 5. Don’t take all the shortcuts. You will miss out on a lot if you do. 5 things you want your child to know before he dies 1. Everyone has their 15 minutes and sometimes we get 45 minutes. 2. You can’t win all the time and you learn more when you lose than when you win. 3. Love someone with all your heart. 4. Your sister and I are always on your side. 5. Grow up and be the wonderful man I know you will be. Okay, now I am supposed to pass this along to 5 more people. I will let you decide. Copy and paste, read and enjoy, whatever you prefer. Ciao for now! |

I really liked this Lani. I think it would be kool to receive something like that from a parent and have an understanding of why they make some of the choices they do. Well said.
