Addicted to my blog stats

Does everyone that blogs read their blog stats as much as I do? I am constantly checking my blog stats. It just dawned on me how quickly this came about.

I have only been blogging since November of last year and, except for the weekends and before the doctor put the cast on my arm, I have been blogging everyday. I have discovered some wonderful new friends and read their blogs everyday, sometimes more than once a day. Crazy stuff this blogging. I love it!

What makes me crazy are my blog stats. Everyday….the line goes up…stops….goes up again…stops. How many people are reading what I write? Is my writing interesting enough and to how many people? Are my life antics viewed as a mini Brittney Spears or am I a voice of reason in all this insanity?

Tell me about your blogging fun, drama and why you love blogging.

Ciao for now!

I am not going to lie. I am addicted too. I just started my blog on Wednesday. I cannot stop blogging. I check who is refering. Comparing today to yesterday. But I never get any search engine traffic.

Wow, Wednesday?! You make me feel like a veteran blogger. I didn’t get any search engine traffic until I started hitting the right tag lines. And I read a lot of blogs and comment on the blogs that catch my interest. Its like dating, ya gotta ask the person out.

Thanks for reading mine and I will certainly be checking out yours.

Let me tell you blogging young’ins something. The addiction never goes away. I did Blogger for a few years, then switched to wordpress a few weeks ago, and over the years, it hasn’t slowed one bit. I even have a bookmark to the stats page, and I check it ALL DAY.

Excellent! I’m glad I am in good company. Thanks for your input gentlemen and I would love to check out your blogs.

Lani

Whew! Glad I’m not the only one!
I have been blogging since December I am currently unemployed while attempting to renovate an antique home. What started out as a home renovation site for submission to Houseblogs.net has turned into a daily whirlwind of blogging, checking my stats, reading other blogs, checking my stats again, reading more blogs, finding other sites on the internet to host my blog, checking may stats, and going to the bathroom once in awhile. Its crazy for sure. My husband has begun referring to the computer as my “square boyfriend”. I am expecting an intervention soon…..:-)

I used to check my stats and now I never do. I mostly enjoy meeting new people thru blogging……I’ve been blogging over a year, maybe two, but this is my 3rd blog, I’ve reinvented myself 3 times LOL so my stats would have been higher if I stuck to my original blog LOLOL (not that i care WINK!)

Hairy – I manage a construction company so I feel your pain with your renovations. sometimes ya just need a break from all the dirt on the floor and checking your blog stats is a nice distraction

Dee – I have to hand it to you! I have to check my stats or it drives me nuts. I’m surprised I make it through the night without checking.

Lani, I am more obsessed with my blog stats now than 10 months ago when I started it, which is a tad frightening to admit. But, it’s even more addictive as I get more traffic! I’m always interested in the search terms that people use to find my blog. They remind me that the internet is such a big, bizarre world — although if they jack up the ol’ blog stats, who cares?!

Well, I can say from my blog stats that you certainly send a lot of readers my way… thank you, thank you! I’m “addicted,” too!

Yep…I’m addicted too. As far as search engine traffic goes – you’ve got to work on those tags, like you said – but also write with keywords in mind. Pick the keywords you want to go after and then weave them through your copy – write relating posts on the same topic…etc. Name categories after keywords. Can you guess what I do for a living? Yep = interactive copywriting, a.k.a. search engine optimization guru. But I’m still mastering the craft as is everyone else in the biz, because it’s a new tool for marketing. Yada, yada.

Yep, one week of being a blogger, so I can relate to Lance. I’m checking at least 3 times a day. That’s not what it is suppossed to be about. But but how do you not get caught up in it?

The reason I decide to start to blog, is it is the ONLY way to address some of my feelings in a safe and honest level. It’s working well and I’m overwhelmed by the amount of readers I have already. I do notice though…the word “sex” in tag line seems to get allot of hits. Are we all perverted or just thinking about sex all the time? :-)
