I agree with you. Any ref that continues with player advantage is asking for trouble and considering the boys are only 9 & 10 years old...it isn't worth it. Most don't understand about player advantage at this age anyway. I know just by the way the play happened if the kid is REALLY hurt or if it just hurts a little bit. As I wrote, gets up and continues playing even when it has been a pretty vicious looking foul. This time he didn't. He plays like his mother. I know most of the refs in my area and they know me. If I say something about it...something is wrong. My son would rather play on than be taken off the field. For any reason.

Any time we talk about AMERICAN SOCCER REFS, Trying to let play go on(advantage)they get into trouble.
they still think, they are reffing football with a Quarter back( hike). Age group has a lot to do with the way you give advantage in soccer. Players stay on the ground if they are really hurt, young or old.
if they are faking, the refs will catch it next time. I will stop play, unless the advantage is near the penalty area, the team is ready for a shot on goal. decisions are made when we are in the game(s).

Okay Dude...from what you wrote...and badly I might add...you do have some idea of this game. However, when I wrote the post about my son I did not write detail for detail, blow for blow. What you don't realize and what I didn't feel was neccessary to mention to the layman reading my post is that it had been a dead ball twice and the ref did not acknowledge the player down. I'm all for player advantage and will use it whenever I get the chance. So will my son. Unskilled players hackin away from behind because they just don't know what they are doing and stupid people such as yourself that want to quote FIFA rules instead of strappin on a pair of boots and actually playing because it is a way of life for you, I have a problem with.

As to whether you think what I did or said was stupid or not, I don't care. Next time you want to ramble on about something you clearly have only read in a book...remember that I play three nights a week!

Heh, thats rather funny if not stupid of you but like all parents your thinking of the kid not anything else, Yes the ref should have called it (Fifas pretty much set it up now where ALL tackles from behind are considered dangerous play unless the player is VERY good at making contact with the ball hes gonna get call for a charge from behind but the kid on the field thing... thats the not the refs problem. Serious thats up to the coaches to work out with the kids whats a gentlemen like way to play which is if they see or hear an injury, kick the ball out so the ref HAS a reason to hold play otherwise HES NOT SUPPOSE TO STOP PLAY AS ITS AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE (you can thank the Italians teams yet again for another one of these rules) now let me explain say you get a kids game the kid takes ball to the face pretty good goes down starts crying as lets face it ball unexpected and at the right angle can really leave you with a red spot on the face but hes not bleeding and the ball is in possession of the said players team and they are now in an advantage. Yet hes crying and sitting there while parent A and B are getting more and more annoyed that god help you the world hasn't stopped for their kid in pain.

Face it, its a bad situation with clearly undefined rules in the sense either do the right thing and do the wrong of stopping play for no good reason (this is of course if the other players continue play instead of as I said just be kind and boot it out and take a knee) or stick to the rules and don't stop play and take the teams advantage away. Now thats just an example that really helps my point there are other scenarios that make it seem like you should always stop play (Refs look for blood no blood he can still play if he wants, if we see blood we stop play and send him off till the blood has stopped)

There are alot of reasons to do it but still I think this happens because in small towns you know the kid in pain so most refs will stop it just then in there and either restart with a drop ball or give it the side that had advantage yet sadly not really what your SUPPOSE to do as I said those tis the fun of Catch 22 your damned if you do the right thing your damned if you dont. Because as someone who played in the higher levels yourself know that the best players not only push the rules but hell will downright break them if he thinks it will work and he can get away with it.
